On January 8, 2026 Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent (MDIST) held a working meeting with representatives of the Tourism Development Institute, focused on outlining strategic priorities and cooperation opportunities for the development of the tourism sector in 2026.
The meeting brought together senior representatives of both institutions to discuss future-oriented initiatives aimed at strengthening human capital, advancing professional education, and supporting the sustainable growth of tourism and hospitality in Uzbekistan.
The parties also explored opportunities to jointly organize professional conferences, expert round tables, and sector-focused forums as platforms for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and industry engagement.
A key topic of the meeting was the discussion of a new joint educational project planned for 2026 — a Summer School in the Tashkent region, aimed at combining academic learning with practical exposure to regional tourism development, destination management, and sustainable tourism practices.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue dialogue and to work toward concrete joint projects that support the long-term development objectives of Uzbekistan’s tourism sector.
