COMPLETION CEREMONY OF THE FIRST STREAM OF THE FIT (FASHION INCUBATOR TASHKENT) PROJECT

Fashion Incubator Tashkent is a project for startups in the fashion industry, designed to help talented young designers and fashion entrepreneurs create a strong brand and develop their business to be competitive in the national and international markets.

The project was initiated by a global program from GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) and the Association of Textile and Clothing and Knitting Industry of Uzbekistan “Uztekstilprom”.

 This project is being implemented by the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent (MDIST).

Fashion Incubator was launched in 2022, we must admit that this was a certain challenge for us since the goal of the program is to transform a fashion idea from a creative direction into a small business project with the prospect of growth into a full-fledged business.

Over the course of several months, the participants who were able to pass the selection underwent various trainings, seminars, participated in various fashion events, etc. A total of 150 hours of training and practical sessions were covered.

Our participants include such brands as: Omio Dio, Amora, Nota Bene, Albina Ahmadi, Upcycling and others.

1. Tamila Kodirova – owner of the brand “Omio Dio”/fashion designer

“OMIO DIO” - the main concept is the creation of an Uzbek brand with an emphasis on minimalism and conciseness.

  

2. Amina Sadyrova – owner of the NTBN brand/fashion designer.

"NTBN" is a digital fashion brand with three main directions: 1. Digital 3D collections; 2. Physical collections of ready-to-wear clothing; 3. NTBN Studio, digital fashion company.

 

3. Albina Bikinova – owner of the Albina Ahmadi brand/fashion designer.

“Albina Ahmadi” - the brand’s mission is to expand the audience of lovers of oriental ikat patterns, etc., offering them modern products for everyday life.

4. Asrorova Gulchehra – owner of    «Amora» brand / fashion designer.

«Amora» brand» - conveys femininity, kindness, environmental friendliness and originality on the same wavelength with trends. Amora against fast-fashion and always cares about the environment and nature.  

5. Lia Yanguzarova – owner of «Upcycling» brand / fashion designer. 

«Upcycling» -  a young project in the market of Uzbekistan, which occupied an empty at the time of founding, the niche of recycling used clothing and accessories into completely new things that are in line with the latest trends of global fashion industry

6. Diyora Hamidova – owner of «DADO» brand / fashion designer.

«DADO»  inspired by Bauhaus Movement and Hippie's Culture. Conciously constructed transformable clothes, and unisex design help to minimize production line as well as overconsumption in fashion. The brand keeps up innovations concerning sustainability and digital fashion.

7. Evgeniya Elizarova – fashion designer. 

«Evasha» - Hand embroidery on clothes / Illustration on clothes by embroidery.

8. Anora Khodzhaeva – marketer.

Participated from the BJeans company.

“BJeans” is a unique domestic denim brand produced by BCT based on a full cycle system from sowing and growing cotton in the Bukhara region to the production of finished denim products.

9. Madina Saidnazirkhonova – owner of «Sabah» brand / fashion designer.

«Sabah» - The brand is based on the creation of comfortable clothes, premium quality, calm tones and color combinations, genderless and careful attitude towards nature.

10. Nasiba Rajapova – fashion designer/final year student of MDIS Tashkent fashion faculty 

«The Cherie Mood» - a new product and community combine a clothing brand and the support of specialists in the field of fashion styling and mental health.

11. Madina Toirzoda – owner of «Tairzade» brand/ fashion designer and fashion illustrator. 

«Tairzade» - a brand that creates modern style clothes in a harmonious combination with national embroidery and preserves the value of culture and respect for traditions

12. Maftunahon Mirahmedova – owner of «White Lab» brand/ fashion designer.

«White Lab» – «NO CONCEPT» brand. The idea is do not tie the brand to one direction or style. White Lab is the designer clothes in a limited edition or a single copy. 

At the project completion ceremony, all participants who were able to successfully complete the program were given certificates.

The ceremony took place on October 31 at the Singapore Institute (MDIS Tashkent). The ceremony was opened by the rector of the Singapore Institute Mamatkulov I.A. He was given the opportunity to make a speech. Also at the ceremony, a speech was made by the representative of GIZ - Gina Burgard and partners in this program - Uztextileprom - Kamola Gudyamova Khalitovna (adviser to the chairman)

Also honored guests were Yokut Sсhmid, foreign adviser to the chairman of the Uzbekipaksanoat association; Dilnoza Umurzakova – Chairman of the Council of Young Designers of Uzbekistan and others. 

Among the guests were Valeria Safagarieva (Valery atelier) and Anna Vedeneeva(Nomad creators) and Sitora Uktamova (seetora_me) and others.
