Local History Museum located in Almalyk city

On February 17, 2026, in accordance with the annual action plan of the center, the Head of the Business and Tourism Development Innovation Center of TSMRI, Khurshid Toshpo‘latov, together with the Head of the Cultural Heritage Department of Tashkent Region, Alisher Karimjonov, and the First Deputy Mayor of Almalyk city, Shermuhammad Begiev, visited the Local History Museum located in Almalyk city. At the museum, they closely ознаком with the industrial achievements of Tashkent region and the scientific work carried out in the field. As a result of a sincere dialogue held with the museum’s research staff, they agreed to prepare and publish articles in March 2026 promoting the role of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine in the region and the unique rich cultural heritage of the area.

Additionally, they visited the “Payg‘ambar ota” shrine, located in Ohangaron district between the Qurama and Chatkal mountain ranges, one of the centers of ancient Iloq situated on the main route of the Great Silk Road and regarded as a pearl of cultural heritage, as well as the “Qori xona” shrine located at the intersection of the Ohangaron and Piskent mountain ranges, and studied the current condition of both sites. It was agreed to develop new tour routes to attract local tourists and TSMRI students to these sites. Together with representatives of the local administration, they developed a trilateral roadmap aimed at doubling the number of visitors to these destinations in 2026 compared to the previous year.
